Buffalo First Unveils Annual All Local Coupon Book: Robby Takac offers buy local endorsement

November 23, 2010

For the third consecutive year, Buffalo First is proud to announce the release of their All-Local Coupon Book. The 2011 edition supports Western New York’s local, independent businesses and contains valuable information and resources to educate community members about the importance of shopping locally.

Shopping within Buffalo’s many diverse and distinctive districts not only benefits our neighbors but, more importantly, the city’s economy. More money re-circulates in the Buffalo area when you shop locally because local businesses often spend their money at other local businesses, allowing these dollars to stay within Western New York.

"Buying local is always a great idea in my opinion," said Robby Takac, Goo Goo Dolls bassist and Music is Art founder. "I mean, it’s pretty simple – the more local stuff you buy, the more money stays here in town, breeding more local merchants and, therefore, a bustling economy that feeds the community it thrives off of."

Moreover, local business owners invest in community. Such businesses are owned by people who live in this community, are less likely to leave and are more invested in the community's future.

This tremendous local guide full of savings can be found throughout the city, including: Lexington Co-Operative Market, Sweetness_7 Café, merge, Talking Leaves…Books, Burchfield Penney Art Center, Caz Coffee Café, Korona Jewelry, MacSolutions Plus and plenty more. For a complete listing of participating vendors, visit: www.buffalofirst.org.

With over a hundred local businesses participating and thousands of dollars worth of savings in the 2011 All-Local Coupon Book, the time to think, buying and being local has never been more accessible.
